Our training program
BataviaLabs is the perfect example of a self-learning organization. A few hours per week topics such as architecture, design, coding techniques and new technology, are discussed in group sessions . Everyone is encouraged to actively participate, from junior programmers to senior architects, because regardless of the knowledge level, multiple (different) insights help to better understand the subject matter.
In our project approach we make use of pair-programming, code reviews and plenary project sessions, among others. This way our people learn every day, even during regular project work. Of course we also invest in "regular" training and send our people to a course or conference, if this is necessary. The knowledge that they gain is then disseminated through our self-learning process.
The advantage of our approach is that all our people are technically well versed, and we are proud of that. We make that clear to our customers by ensuring that all our developers are certified. Developers that come to us without certification are encouraged and helped to get certified quickly.
